I'm torn between the 3S hatch and the CX I have a 50lb dog, and he fits in the back, but it's pretty tight height-wise. If he's not right up against the back seat, he's a bit cramped. Note that the sedan only has L of trunk space, so it's safe to assume the L of space in the hatch is from the floor to the roof with the rear privacy ledge removed. Want to add to the discussion? I think a 75lb dog would be way too big for the back of a 3. I am going to go measure mine right now. I can sit in the back with the hatch down and seats up. Not much headroom though Here's what I found: The "floor" of the back hatch area is 35" deep closed hatch to back of seats.
