I don't care about the difference between 7. With normal cars it's easy to use HP and weight to get With the hybrid I don't know how to do it. It could be faster than the equivalent gas van electric motors make huge torque at low speed or it could be bad gas engine runs at a single, fixed gear ratio when directly connected to the drive shaft, so may only contribute to the HP peak at highway speeds.

Am in final negotiation, hope to buy this week. I had some of your same concerns going from a muscle car to a hybrid when I took the plunge. I currently have two hybrids, both with times above 10 seconds. They have sufficient power to pull onto a highway and get up to speed safely. No, they aren't muscle car fast but I've never been worried. If you time a normal acceleration in traffic, it's significantly longer than 10 seconds. Allpar shows the gas engine at hp making more it powerful than our Sienna which is no slouch in it's own right.

The only difference is that the hybrid engine runs an Atkinson cycle giving it less torque at low rpm. But, the electric motors should make up for the reduced low rpm torque. My post count is to low to post the Allpar link.

Try piecing this together. My best guess for what it is worth is that the zero to 60 times will be equal to or better than the regular version. The instant torque, plus the engine, should work well for a great zero to 60 time. Want a 5s hybrid family hauler? The XC90 T8 is your vehicle! Originally Posted by Kandiru View Post.
