  • thinking a engine conversion wantimng to know what motors peoplke have put in a sierra. preferred injection i was thinking toyota 4age, or swift.

G'day all i have a 85 sierra with a very tired f10a that rattles and clunks its way to work for how much longer is anyones guess. I inherited my.

By far the easiest conversion and maybe the cheapest is the electronic fuel injected vitara motor. I had no trouble putting this in as it uses.

That is correct the engine mounts need to be cut off the chasis and engine mounts welded on. Motor has probably xxxkm at a guess. But in cash terms, by the time you buy all the bits to get your ltr to where you think you want it, it would have been far cheaper to buy a WT, and given the size of what you seem to be planning it is quite likely that you will have run out of interest before you get finished, and you will have pieces of cars everywhere, but nothing you can drive. Plus my mates have Suzukis too one with a sierra and another with a Vitara. I'm with your dad, unless you have a special love affair with your 1tr I would buy a different car to start with.

SUZUKI SIERRA lt G16B EFI ENGINE CONVERSION – One Stop Suzi Shop

Please login or register. G'day all i have a 85 sierra with a very tired f10a that rattles and clunks its way to work for how much longer is anyones guess. I inherited my sisters old LWB Vitara chassis rust finally got the better of it. She has a Daewoo Holden Cruize now but that's another story. Anyway my question is how hard is it going to be to transplant Engine, Box, Ecu plus wiring and anything else needed? Ill tell you what i have worked out so far.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Relocate engine and gearbox mounts. A 2 inch body lift to accommodate 's extra height, with all that goes with like brake hoses and wiring etc. Been told this is really easy just get boat rollers and cut down to suit. Sierra wide track diffs or adapt the Vitara rear diff to suit trans for the centre located banjo. Been informed that Vitara and wide track Sierra share the same diff centre can anyone confirm this?

Of course i will make sure front and rear share the same ratio. Cutting and shutting the Vitara housing to suit Sierra leaf springs wont be a big deal as i will be modifying the suspension a bit. Taking leaves out and making spring saddles for coil helpers for suspension lift, more articulation and a smoother ride. I have seen this done to a Hilux and what a difference it made to it.

It almost went the places my Range Rover did. I will also be re arranging the location of the rear shocks to optimise travel. The engine will be getting a refurbishment with 40 thou oversize pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets and seals plus a cam shaft upgrade for more torque. This engine should last a fair time it had already survived me on my L's and p plates i know they take a flogging cuz i have given it one.

Will i need to source a sump for diff location? Any other information will greatly appreciated. Every Land Rover owner should have a spare Suzuki for when their Land Rover brakes There is no such thing as cant, the impossible just takes a little longer To recover this you will have to put 5.

Some parts of a WT diff and a vitara front diff are the same, but they are not interchangable. A two inch lift using boat rollers isn't some thing I would want to brag about, there are engineer approved lift blocks at reasonable prices. My sierra has a g16 efi, and it just fits with no body lift. Yeah mate I think you are a bit misinformed, I can give you a bit of info but it will take a fair while to write everything so hopefully some others will add to the list.

That is correct the engine mounts need to be cut off the chasis and engine mounts welded on. Sump needs to be changed, oil pick up needs to be modified, fuel system needs to be modified to efi.

Most people do not use the vitara gearbox and intergrated transfer, they use an adapter and bolt the engine to a 5 speed sierra box, that way there is no need to modify the drive train. If you really want to use the vitara gearbox then I would suggest removing the transfer case and running a jackshaft to your sierra transfer.

Vitara rear diff is a bigger diff centre than a WT Sierra. Cutting and shuting a Vitara axle is actually a very big deal, dont forget you would have to get new axles made which needs a specialist and is very expensive. WT diffs are a good idea as 1 litre diffs are are 4. You could also run a NT diff housing which will bolt straight in as the spring spacing is the same as 1 litre, they ar 3.
